Scirocco tuning program by JE Design

The resulting performance numbers seem worth the modest 1,250 euro price tag. 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds and a top speed of 242 km/h.
And, of course, proper tuning requires a new and improved set of wheels. JE Design can provide you with 8x19" rims with 235/35 R19 tires in "shadow silver" for 2,810 €. There is also the choice of the "matt black / silver rim bead" for 2,930 €, or the "white pearl / polished front" for the same price.
JE Design also offers lowering springs for 219 € which bring the Scirocco down about 3 cm.
The body kit packages includes side skirts, air intakes and front and rear spoilers with a series of variations all for under 1,600 euro.
A stainless-steel muffler and double-oval-piped, mid-positioned exhaust is also available for 899 euros.
We always appreciate tuners who provide prices that give consumers a realistic view of what they'll be offered and also know if what is on offer is realistic for them.

Golf VI by Abt to debut in Essen

The new Abt Golf VI is available in a number of 'greener' powerplants. Hans Juergen Abt, managing director of the German firm, throws about the term 'downsizing' and is keen to point out that the upgrade incorporates VW's 1.4 TSI unit, available in two stages of expansion for optimum fuel efficiency and performance.
The standard 122 hp 1.4-litre is expanded to 160 hp while customers wishing to stretch the 'little engine' out further have the option of a 200 hp version - producing almost as much power as the series 2.0 TFSI powerplant but consuming less fuel. But if 1400cc is a little too conservative, then Abt have it covered: the 2.0 TFSI gets upgraded from 210 hp to 240 hp, with a more frugal offering in the form of a 30 hp-hiked 2.0 TDI model with 170 hp.
But the Abt upgrades span beyond the hood. Abt will happily fit vehicles with their Abt threaded suspension or sports springs, both of which are recommended for optimum power handling. Abt braking and sports braking systems provide deceleration suited to the performance hikes.
'An outstanding basis' for Abt, the sixth-gen new Golf also gets the full treatment by designers for a sporting but 'elegant' look. The enhanced presence is achieved via new front grill, new aprons front and rear (the latter with integrated 4-pipe exhaust), rear spoiler and perhaps principally the huge 18 or 19 inch alloys, available diamond-turned or high-gloss polished.

VW CC Gold Coast Edition at SEMA 2008

VW has tried over the years to take its brand a little up-market. They did so with models such as the Touareg and the Phaeton. This did not always make business sense, since they brushed up against their own Audi premium brand and consumers were a little taken aback about the price tags on what are supposed to be the "people's car". But the cars were great and critics appreciated them.
So VW's latest offering to confuse our sense of their humble roots is the CC which they have taken to SEMA to show off their lux credentials.
And the highlights aren't just the paint job to tie into the "gold" theme. Using DuPont's Pepe Pepper in a tri-coat mix of brown, gold and silver tones the car looks its name. But it is also a real sports sedan, with interior finish names like Latte Machiatto, 19-inch wheels in propeller form, and the engine beneath the bonnet to provide the proper boogie.
The Passat-based CC Gold Coast Edition features a 3.6 liter FSI engine with 280 hp and 265 lb-ft (360 Nm) of torque, married to the VW Group's DSG twin-clutch 6-speed automatic gearbox -- a respectable amount of power for such a mid-sized sports sedan.
That 3.6 liter CC will see the streets. But this Gold Coast Edition is eye candy only.

Of course, Abt's own BR or AR alloys in 18 to 20 inch size s are available with a selection of tires and wheel spacers.
Under the bonnet, Abt raises power output for the 1.4 TSI from 160 hp (119 kW) to 200 hp (147 kW) and the 2.0-liter turbo diesel to 170 hp / 125 kW (standard: 140 hp / 103kW). The 2.0 TSI is increased from the standard 200 hp (147 kW) to 240 hp (177 kW).
Available from January 2009, the entire package which includes the body pack, 4-pipe rear muffler, springs and complete wheel set (19 inch AR alloys, diamond-machined and black, plus tyres and wheel spacers) costs a very reasonable 5,990 Euros in Germany.
OETTINGER Volkswagen Scirocco

Outside the car features an aggressive new body kit with aero flaps for the front splitter and sill extensions. Other changes include a rear diffuser, polished stainless steel exhaust and OETTINGER sport wheels in sizes up to 20”. Ratcheting up the sporting appeal on the interior is carbon fiber trim, stainless steel kick plates and aluminum pedals.
More meaningful changes are under the hood as the company has modified the engine management software to turn out 240 PS from the 2.0L turbo and 200 PS from the 1.4L TSI. In the coming months a tuning package for the 2.0L TSI engine will create 350 PS and 470 Nm. Other performance enhancements include a specially tuned adjustable suspension and larger brakes.

The RDX badgeless front end lends the Fox with a Golf GTI-look while the new Audi S6 daylight running lights are an optional extra. The side sills and rear diffuser match perfectly and RDX has left the rear bumper without tailpipe cut-outs, leaving that to the discretion of their customers.

VW Golf IV by Mattig

Press release:
VW Golf IV Gets Enhanced Appearance from Mattig
- Sporty body kit
- Car styling programme with front-/rear aprons, lighting and aerodynamics
- Components that fit like a glove
- with TÜV– parts approval certificate
A new apron at the front with two large air inlets, right and left, guarantee a more easily remembered ‘face’. Mattig prepared the extravagantly styled component for use with an Audi single-frame grille. Mattig is offering a bonnet extension for the front edge of the bonnet to protect it against damage, just in case. Mattig also has an alternative for the headlights. A combination of black and chrome coloured parts gives them a cool look by day and by night. The Mattig headlight covers give it that famous “dangerous” look.
The Mattig side skirts create a visual 'lower-lying' effect and a considerably more solid appearance. The Mattig sports mirrors are another special detail, with easily visible, integrated indicators. Impressive appearance and safety at the same time! For the rear end Mattig has designed a rear apron extension with conspicuously formed air outlets into which, for example, the end pipes of the four-pipe exhaust system fit perfectly. A guarantee for hot-blooded optics with a real sporty look! New Mattig tail lights with LED technology also provide a particularly successful mixture of first-class safety - LEDs are much easier to see in daylight than conventional lights - and outstanding optics. Quick cornering is no longer a problem with the five-part Mattig roof spoiler as it increases the ground pressure and also looks as if it has come directly from the race track. This radical part attracts immediate attention to every Golf IV!

VW Debuts Park Assist Vision Concept

The driver engages the system by selecting an available space on the navigation monitor, set the DSG gear selection lever to “P” and exit the vehicle, if desired. It's advisable to inform the passengers first before exiting the car, so they don't grab the steering wheel for dear life, however, the driver can stay in the car as well.
Debuting at the Hanover Fair in Germany until April 25th, the PAV system uses two cameras located in the side view mirrors, two additional cameras in the front and rear, ultrasonic sensors, electromechanic power steering and a 2-GHz high-performance computer which analyzes the video signals and sends commands to the steering and drive systems.
If things do awry, the driver may interrupt the manoeuvre at any time using the remote control. According to VW, the PAV system is “still in the trial phase of development, and a date has not yet been set for introduction of the system to series production.”

Reworked Golf R32 by Abt

Horsepower raises from a leisurely 250 hp in production form to a rather more Abt 370 hp, the 120 hp hike achieved via a modified motor management system and the introduction of an Abt compressor kit with supercharger and air cooling system. The upgrades power a hike in top speed to over 270 kph (or 168 mph), while acceleration to 100 kph or 62 mph decreases from 6.2 seconds in production form to just 5.0 seconds.
The same dynamic performance is delivered both on the Autobahn and on winding country roads thanks to Abt's sports suspension kit, 'perfectly harmonising' with all 370 horses of the Abt R32's V6 engine.
An extraordinary vehicle is kitted out as such, primarily featuring 19-inch wheels and Abt decals but otherwise including only subtle bodykit modifications. A new side skirt and blackened once chrome dual exhaust pipes are the principle alterations. No details on any interior upgrades or kit release dates have been announced.

ABT Golf Variant Revealed

These words ring true as you do a quick walkabout in the vicinity of the Variant where you notice kit like side skirts, rear wing, 19-inch wheels and stainless steel mufflers. Mufflers will do no harm at this juncture in order to verbalise that the engines have been upgraded to.
Firstly, the 1.4TSI is now up to 210 bhp/ 154kW, where the turbo diesel 1.9TDI makes either 85kW or 96kW. The 2.0-litre diesel gains substantially as well, going to 190 bhp/ 140kW.
Who says that a station wagon must be a boring vehicle? Practical, multifunctional and dynamic - the new Golf Variant by ABT Sportsline combines these attributes perfectly. The world’s leading Volkswagen-tuner developed a wonderful body kit for the most practical model of the Golf family. The low front spoiler lip gives the face of the Variant an even more distinctive and therefore sportier touch. Together with the side skirts, the rear wing and the 2-pipe rear muffler made of stainless steel, the vehicle gets an overall successful appearance. The ABT Golf Variant appears even there beautiful where normally usefulness reigns. In simple words, at places where the family’s luggage or bulky things are loaded. As perfect complement for the elegant station wagon, we recommend wheels by ABT: No matter if the well-proven AR or the new BR wheel with its corresponding spoke-pairs - the wheel creations from Kempten suit the Golf Variant perfectly. AR and BR wheels are both available in sizes up to 19 inch, of course also with suitable tires.
The designation “Variant” stands for high utility and flexibility; after a power treatment by the engineers by ABT Sportsline the car also offers a maximum of driving pleasure. This is achieved by power upgrades, which ABT offers for all kind of engines. The 1.4 TFSI then delivers sporty 210hp (154kW) instead of 170hp (125kW). Depending on the serial performance, the 1.9 TDI now delivers either 115hp (85kW) or 130hp (96kW). In both versions, the diesel engine delivers additional 25hp. The performance of the two-liter diesel engine is increased from 170hp (125kW) to powerful 190hp (140kW). In order to bring the additional power on the road and to enable the agile station wagon to whip through the corners, ABT Sportsline recommends different suspension components: ABT springs, ABT adjustable sports suspension and the ABT ISC shock absorber set, perfectly adjusted to the special requirements of sporty vehicles. And that is exactly what the Golf Variant by ABT is: A powerfully accelerating all-rounder, which is fast over short and long distances. As multifunctional as this car is, one thing it is certainly not: Boring.

Volkswagen Tiguan by Delta 4x4

Go has been taken care of as well, to the tune of some 169 bhp/ 126kW and 384Nm of torque, both up on the standard vehicle. Power, which may or may not corrupt, comes at a price. In this case it’s €1,300. Offroad tyres range from 16 to 22 inches, depending. Costs are the same for both types of car.
If you choose to take to the bush you can opt for the higher Tiguan, raised all of 50mm. Cosmetically the radiator grille gets same paint as wheels. Whether this is a good thing or not is really up to the buyer, although €330 later one may consider it money ill-spent. Each to his own then. Take the offroad car and part with some €39,772.
